Toxicity:
Cytotoxicity against KB (human nasopharynyeal epidermoid), MCF-7 (human breast adenocarcinoma), and K562 (human leukemia) cancer cell lines. It showed inhibition with an apparent selectivity for K562 cells, with IC50 values of 41.0 ( 4.6 ). It is noteworthy that the activity of metabolite 2 is close to that of doxorubicin hydrochloride (1.2 ( 0.2 μM), a presently prescribed drug for the treatment of leukemia.
