The next meeting is planned in Viterbo, Italy, 15-17 September, 2016. The website with full information is here please register completing the registration form available in the wesbite at your earliest convenience and send to Laura Selbmann. There will be no congress fee for anyone who registers before 1 September 2016. Depending on sponsorship we aim to provide local facilities, lunches and an excursion at modest costs to the participants. Each session starts with a special lecture of 30 min. Remaining talks are shorter (recommended 10-15 min). All participants are invited for an oral presentation; this is a good opportunity for students to speak in an international meeting. A poster session will also be organised. We plan to have a preliminary program available early spring, 2016. Topics will include the role of melanin, extreme survival, the role aromatic hydrocarbons, virulence factors, ant ecology and the remarkable ant-black yeast connection, severe black yeast infections, black yeast genomics and phylogeny, molecular diagnostics, and many other topics.

The 13th ASM Conference on Candida and Candidiasis will continue its legacy of providing a vital forum for the Candida research community to present the latest advances and ideas about the diagnosis and treatment of Candida infections, antifungal drug resistance, the genomics and epidemiology of the fungus, the molecular mechanisms that underpin Candida pathobiology, and the immunological responses of the host to the fungus. Once again, most talks at the conference have been selected from the submitted abstracts. This conference will help determine the course of future research in this area and empower major ongoing efforts to understand, treat, and prevent Candida infections.
