Antimicrobial drug resistance (AMR) is an urgent global health problem. New antimicrobial drug development is increasingly viewed as a priority by National and International bodies. There are relatively few agents in developmental pipelines and a paucity of identified microbiological targets that can be exploited for drug development. Co-sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), this multidisciplinary meeting will address the challenges, opportunities and current requirements for antimicrobial drug development for AMR.

A very successful 1st CroCTM & HIV held in 2015 that gathered more than 150 participants from ten countries and a growing interest in migration medicine in the region, encouraged us to organize the first Southeast European Conference of this kind. We are looking forward to even greater success at this year’s Conference.
The main goal of the congress is to bring together Southeastern European health care workers with various professional backgrounds and leading experts in the field to share knowledge and expertise on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the most common diseases in travelers and migrants, major tropical diseases and HIV infection. Российско-китайская конференция в рамках конгресса проводится под эгидой Российско-китайской ассоциации медицинских вузов (РКАМУ). Всероссийская конференция «Современная эпидемиология – междисциплинарная платформа» организуется совместно с Национальной ассоциацией специалистов по контролю инфекций, связанных с оказанием медицинской помощи (НАСКИ).

Торжественные заседания конгресса будут посвящены знаменательным для сообщества эпидемиологов и микробиологов России событиям:

70-летию основания кафедры эпидемиологии, паразитологии и дезинфектологии СЗГМУ им. И.И. Мечникова.

Российско-китайский формат конгресса продиктован активизацией международного сотрудничества России и КНР, взаимной интеграцией передовых достижений медицинской науки и образования в практику здравоохранения.
