Registration is almost full for the first ever Fungal Gordon Research Seminar, and places are moving quickly for the Gordon Research Conference on Cellular and Molecular Fungal Biology, which will be held back-to-back from 16-22 June in Holderness, New Hampshire, USA (enclosed).

Offered Talks: Offered talks will be selected soon on the basis of submitted abstracts. Please submit your application quickly if you wish to be considered for a talk. [Please note – the abstracts will not be published. This is specifically to encourage participants to present their recent unpublished work.]

Travel Grants: For those working in Germany, France and the UK, the DMykG, SFM and BSMM have said that they will invite applications for travel grants from their members for this Fungal Gordon Research Conference. No doubt other learned societies will do the same. We will also be able to offer a limited number of travel grants.

This one day conference, hosted by Manchester Cystic Fibrosis Centre, will focus on implementing change in Cystic Fibrosis centres to improve care for all people with the condition.

 

The programme is designed around an expert faculty, including international speakers, who will be covering some of the most pressing issues related to Cystic Fibrosis. This includes dealing with increasing numbers of patients in adult care.

 

The conference will consider:

 

•	The main challenges facing CF clinicians in the modern era of treatment complexity and growing clinic size.
•	The multi-system nature of the CF and utilising the expertise of clinicians worldwide to ensure optimal management for all CF patients.
•	The place of new microbiological techniques in the management of CF patients.

 

The conference has been developed for all members of the multi-disciplinary team including Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Nursing, Pediatricians, Gastroentrologists, Pulmonologists, Physiotherapists, Social workers, Psychologists and Dieticians .
