The aim of this year’s Bayer-sponsored symposium will be to cover some recent advances in the science and management of tuberculosis. Confirmed speakers include:
Professor Phillip Butcher (St George’s Hospital Medical School). The use of microarrays to study gene expression in M.tuberculosis.
Professor Stephen Gillespie (Royal Free Medical School). Molecular typing of Mycobacteria. Techniques and applications.
Dr Helen Fletcher (University of Oxford). Prospects for a TB vaccine.
Dr Guy Thwaites (Brighton and Sussex Medical School). Management of TB meningitis.
Dr Bertie Squires (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine). Multidrug resistant TB.
Mr Chris Granger (Oxford Immunotech). Immunological methods to diagnose TB.
The symposium will be free with a lunch provided. An application for CPD accreditation has been made.
