We are pleased to formally announce the 2023 Fungal Pathogens Conference. This conference seeks to build on the 2021 Molecular Mycology course 25th Anniversary Symposium to establish a biannual conference devoted to all types of research on human fungal pathogens including basic biology, pathogenesis, immunology, host-pathogen interactions, genomics, drug discovery and development, epidemiology as well as other topics. Two morning sessions will focus on broad topics to allow a diversity of specific presentations, both invited and chosen from participant abstracts. There will be poster sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The meeting will close with dinner on Thursday with departure on Friday.

Welcome to the 11th Congress on Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM-11), which will be held at the state-of-the-art Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (MAICC) in Athens Greece, on 20-23 October 2023, organized by the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) in full co-operation with the Hellenic Society of Medical Mycology (HSMM).
As the first meeting of ECMM was held in 1993, TIMM 2023 will mark the start of the third decade of TIMM conferences. Over the last two decades, TIMM has established itself as an important first class meeting in the field of medical mycology, attracting frequently over 1000 mycologists from around the worlds. TIMM has become a global forum in which scientists and clinicians from all over the world present their latest advances and research findings in medical mycology combined with the provision of targeted educational workshops. TIMM-11 will cover new fascinating insights into the biology of fungal pathogens, intriguing host-fungus interactions, updated diagnostic and therapeutic management approaches, changing dynamics in clinical epidemiology, as well as the emergence of antifungal resistances and emerging newly discovered fungal pathogens.
The topics of the meeting are designed to be from bench to bed for basic scientists in medical mycology, medical mycologists, microbiologists, and a wide range of clinicians specialized in e.g., adult or paediatric infectious diseases, haematology/oncology, transplantation medicine and primary immunodeficiencies, critical care, dermatology, as well as immunology, and all others with an interest in medical mycology. Of course, fungal infections in relation to viral pandemics like COVID-19 will be also discussed.
As the world is coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, TIMM-11 will be a great opportunity for all participants to meet face-to-face with old friends and colleagues, make new friends and form new collaborations in medical mycology.
