“Global development challenges such as infectious diseases, conflict and food security are complex and dynamic. To develop appropriate solutions we need new thinking, input from all disciplines and equitable global collaborations.”
The UK collaborative on development sciences (UKCDS) brings together a group of 15 UK government departments and research funders working in international development. The UKCDS is launching new resources to inspire and help researchers navigate the opportunities brought about by the changing research landscape.
A new researcher hub ‘your research: science for global good’ has been set up for researchers keen to use their skills and knowledge to help tackle development challenges. The researcher hub includes tips for building partnerships, FAQs for researchers starting out in global development and inspirational case studies of UK-funded researchers in a range of diverse fields from nanotechnology to behavioural psychology. A new funding hub allows users to navigate through major UK funding opportunities and provides an overview of ODA criteria, counties each programme funding, major recurring funding calls and eligibility criteria.
Other resources include a list of open funding calls, a weekly update with new funding opportunities and a monthly newsletter.
