This is an exciting time to join the laboratory of Professor Gordon Brown, Director of the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology, which has recently relocated to Exeter. Professor Brown's laboratory is focused on understanding the immune response to fungal pathogens. This role is critical to support the functioning of his laboratory.
You will support the research projects of Professor Brown's team of postdoctoral scientists and students through your expertise in molecular biology, cell culture and protein purification. A key aspect of this role is to maintain and verify cell lines, produce and quality control in-house protein reagents, organise shipments to external collaborators, and provide help with genotyping, RT-PCT and Q-PCR and the production of recombinant DNA constructs. You will need to be able to prioritise and work independently and be able to train laboratory members with techniques with which you are familiar. Contributions to the functioning of the broader MRC Centre would also be part of this role.
