3 Associate Editors for Open Forum Infectious Diseases (OFID), IDSA's open access journal


Open Forum Infectious Diseases (OFID), IDSA's open access journal, is seeking 3 additional Associate Editors to help manage an increasing volume of submissions since the journal received an Impact Factor. Associate Editors will review submitted manuscripts in their areas of expertise, invite peer reviewers for high-quality papers, and collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief on decisions regarding publication. Soliciting original content from colleagues and ID fellows-in-training is strongly encouraged, as are contributions by editors themselves. Associate Editors will participate in an annual face-to-face meeting at IDWeek, and periodic conference calls.

Candidates in the following subject areas are particularly desired:

  1. Transplant and immunocompromised host ID, including expertise in fungal infections and if possible diagnostic microbiology

  2. Translational research (for example, bacterial or viral pathogenesis, molecular biology, genetics)

  3. General Infectious Diseases -- including clinical practice in both the outpatient and inpatient setting, quality improvement, infection control, antibiotics stewardship, policy, medical economics, and education related to Infectious Diseases
