Abstract: 

IL-10 is associated with a Th2 response and the down-regulation of a Thl response. The aim of this study was to assess the role played by IL-10 during systemic infection with Aspergillus fumigatus. Systemic aspergillosis was established in female C56BL/6 IL-10 (-) (KO) and wild-type (WT) C57BL/6 mice by i.v. administration of 1 x 105 to 6 x 105 conidia of A. fumigatus 10AF. In two experiments, KO mice survived longer (deaths occurred between days 4 and 14) than did WT mice (deaths occurred between days 3 and 5)(P
