Abstract:

Neurological complications are important causes of morbidity and mortality in heart transplant (HT) recipients, mainly in the perioperative period. 56256;56473;CNS opportunistic infections are rare nowadays, but may be caused by a wide variety of microorganisms, thus creating difficult treatment choices. 56256;56473;New immunomodulating agents have improved survival rates, although they may have toxic effects on the CNS which may be misinterpreted as infectious complications and vice versa.
