Purpose of work: Ocular fungal infections and ocular perished are formidable infections, poor prognosis, favored by certain factors, especially the continuous wearing of poorly maintained contact lenses, with notion of strain corneal trauma by foreign bodies such that the plants, and the concept of corneal pathology underlying.
The main objective is to attract the intention of the importance of rapid and accurate mycological diagnosis for better therapeutic management.
Materials and Methods : The patients included in this study came from the eye clinic, hospital or external consultants as having an eye injury or eye perished resistant to antibiotics. Different types of samples were taken.A cultivation on Sabouraud medium was made for all samples and the tubes were incubated at 27 ° C and / or 37 ° C depending on the type of sample. The identification of the isolated strains was based on the macroscopic and microscopic examination for filamentous strains, and the yeast-like fungi to Auxacolor.
Results: 21 patients with different clinical pictures suggestive of fungal origin were included, 12 patients had corneal abscess is 57.15%, keratitis and endophthalmitis in 11.3% and 9.5% of cases. A fungal origin was retained in 12 patients out of 21, or 57.1%, of which 9 patients had ocular endo reached, their information sheets bring the following factors: wearing contact lenses for 03 patients, the concept of ocular trauma 02 sick and the notion of postoperative superinfection for 03 others, while for the 9 th , the risk factor was not specified. 52% of the strains were represented by the species Candida albicans followed by Acremonium sp which represented 18.5%, comes after Aspergillus with a percentage of 14.5% and Fusarium sp and Trichosporon sp which accounted for 7.4% and 3.7% of the isolated strains, with a case of herpes vine periocular to Trichophyton rubrum.
Conclusion: The kératomycoses are eye conditions underestimated before the ignorance of the officers involved, poor visual prognosis in the absence of rapid support, helped by a good sampling for better therapeutic management.
