Abstract: 

In recent years, the patterns of Candida infections have changed. Previously, Candida albicans was the most prevalent cause of Candida infections, whereas in recent times, other Candida species, such as C. glabrata have become common infection-causing pathogens. In the present study, we investigated the in vitro and in vivo activities of posaconazole (POS) against four clinical isolates of C. glabrata with a variable susceptibility to fluconazole (FLU). Moreover, we evaluated the efficacy of sequential therapies with amphotericin B (AMB) or caspofungin (CAS) followed by POS for treatment of C. glabrata infections. MICs ranged from 1.0 to > 64.0,
