Abstract:

Powdery mildews have been common and severe in Shandong in recent years. There has also
been an apparent broadening of the host range. We collected 161 powdery mildew samples from 78 host
plant species in 73 genera from 39 families in different areas of Shandong in 2012. Representative
samples were identified by morphological and phylogenetic analyses of the rDNA-ITS gene sequences.
Up the now 14 species powdery mildew fungi in 6 genera were identified from 16 species plant sample in
13 genera from 7 families. Some of the species identified were as follows: Arthrocladiella mougeotii;
Golovinomyces orontii, G. americanns, G. artemisiae, G. spadiceus; Microsphaera pseudolonicerae, M.
syringae-japonicae; Oidium neolycopersici; Podosphaera xanthii, P. tridactyla, P. macularis, P. fusca;
Phyllactinia actinidiae, P. pyri- serotinae. In addition, four new record species in China were found:
Erysiphe platani on Plantanus orientalis, Podosphaera leucotricha on Photinia serrulata, Golovinomyces
magnicellulatus on Physalis alkekengi var. Franchetii, Erysiphe cruciferarum on Brassica rapa ssp.
Pekinensis.
