Abstract:

Invasive aspergillosis (IA) is still a major cause of morbidity and mortality in hematology
patients despite recent advances in diagnosis and treatment. This underlines the relevance of the preventive approach. It is admitted that the hospital environment is the
main source of the patients’ contamination. The aim of our study was to prospectively
investigate the filamentous fungal flora of patients and environment and to estimate the
incidence of IA in the department of Onco-hematology of Farhat Hached university
hospital at Sousse city, Tunisia.
