Blood culture positive for Aspergillus

Summary: This woman presented in septic shock, respiratory and renal failure with disseminated intravascular coagulation 48 h after a snake bite, in South Africa. Her admission blood culture grew Aspergillus fumigatus. No cause for sepsis was identified. She recovered with supportive therapy, without antifungal therapy.
