Abstract:

One case of colonization of a post-traumatic scalp wound by Aspergillus nidulansand Fusarium solaniin a healthy adult patient is discussed. A second caseof respiratory colonization by Acrophialophora fusisporain a child with cysticfibrosis is presented. Both cases are reported to illustrate the need of combinedhistologic and mycologic studies in evaluating patients in order to distinguishbetween colonization and invasion.
