Abstract:

Protease producing fungi were qualitatively enumerated from marine and estuarine environments of Kerala. 61 strains were isolated from twenty five samples. All the strains were screened for protease production by growing them in casein agar media. Species of Aspergillus, Rhizopus Penicillum, Saccharomyces, Mucor and Neurospora were predominant.
