Abstract:
Headache associated with acute sinusitis is a widelyaccepted entity; diagnosis can be made by the associatednasal symptoms and computed tomography(CT) or endoscopic findings. However, chronicsinusitis as a cause of headache or facial pain is stillcontroversial. In a few cases with sinus headachesmay not necessarily present with a typical sinusitishistory. Thus, referred headache of rhinogenic origin,in the absence of sinonasal symptoms, usuallydelays its diagnosis. Here we report two patientswho presented with primary headache syndromewithout significant nasal or sinus symptoms andwho failed to respond to medical therapy.
