Abstract:
The specifity of gene encoding the ribotoxin protein in Aspergillus fumigatuswasdetermined by PCR amplification of a portion of the gene. All A. fumigatusstrains studied showed the presence of amplifiable ribotoxin product, while noneof the other fungal species, with the exception of Aspergillus restrictus, showedthis amplification product. Hence, this method may be used for rapid and specificidentification of A. fumigatus.
