Abstract:

The present study examined air quality within the college classrooms in Chhindwara, M.P., India. In all, 125 samples were collected from January 1, 1996 to December 31, 1996. There was seasonal variation in fungi. The maximum fungi were recorded in rainy season followed by winter and summer. Aspergillus was the most abundant genus followed by Cladosporium, Alternaria, Curvularia and Fusarium. The study revealed that the college students are exposed to the fungal allergens. Further studies on allergy caused by these fungi will open up new opportunities for research.
