Abstract:
No abstract.First para: Besides fluconazole and amphotericin B, itraconazole, a triazole derivate, has been successfully used in the treatment of systemic mycoses. The advantages of the drug are its good oral bioavailability and its potent activity, particularly against Aspergillus species, as well as better tolerance of the drug compared to the antimycotic drugs usually used. We report on the development of pleural and pericardial effusions in a patient on itraconazole therapy.
