Abstract:
We describe a kinetic microbroth method of measuring the growth rate ofAspergillus fumigatus spectrophotometrically. Using this method, growth rateswere determined for nine A. fumigatus isolates for which an LD90 value inimmunosuppressed CD-1 mice had previously been obtained. Comparison of thegrowth rates and LD90 values of these isolates suggests that a correlation exists between the two parameters.
