A study on allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis.

Abstract:

Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA) has a close association with asthma. During a study on Fungal born respiratory allergy, conducted in the Malabar area of Kerala, eleven cases, suspected ABPA, have been found. Based on the the Diagnostic criteria commonly used for ABPA, like immediate skin reactivity, blood eosinophilia, precipitating antibodies, total LgE estimation,sputum culture positivity to Aspergillus sp, and Arthus (late) reaction. The study revealed that, 4 of the ABPA patients satisfied five of more criteria used in this study.
