treatment for aspergillus fumigatus

About a year ago I was diagnosed with asperrillus fumigatus in my lungs, along with candidas. The pulmonologist that I was seeing told me that there was no treatment and that my body would eliminate the fungus on its own. I have had continual, repeated sinus infections since then along with pneumonia more than once. I have a friend who was just diagnosed with aspergillus and his doctor immediately put him on a nine month course of antibiotics along with a fungul medication. My question is, why was I not treated, shouldn't I have been? And could the fact that I was not treated contribute to the repeated sinus and pneumonia infections? Should I follow up with another doctor? Thank you for any advice. Kate
