Question 1. You do not give many details about these 'peas in a pod' but I guess it is possible they could be fungal balls trapped behind a plug, or some other debris. Itraconazole is a good treatment and you may find you have to take it for long periods of time, however if you do have aspergilloma you would probably do well to get a referral to the National Aspergillosis Centre in Manchester (www.nationalaspergillosiscentre.org.uk)

Question 2. You need to see your GP about this. Antibiotics should be taken if needed.

Question 3. Again this is a question for your doctor. Taking you off steroids if possible is a good approach under some circumstances when aspergilloma are involved but not at the cost of making it difficult for you to breathe!
