Notes to Authors -the Aspergillus Website
References should be listed at the end of the text in Vancouver style with no text formatting (see bottom for examples).
The references should be listed by year with the most recent papers last on the list and the oldest papers first. Where there are several papers in a year, papers should be listed alphabetically. In the text, references should be quoted in the following way:
Where there is one author: Denning (1998) or (Denning, 1998); where there are two authors: Denning and Anderson (1998) or (Denning and Anderson, 1998); where there are three or more authors: Denning et al. (1998) or (Denning et al., 1998).
References to papers by the same author(s) should be distinguished in the text and the reference list by the letters a, b, c etc. (e.g.1998a).
All genus and species names should be italicised e.g. Aspergillus fumigatus. Other classification groups should not be italicised e.g. ascomycete, plectomycete, Aspergilli-.
All abbreviations should be written in full followed by the abbreviation in brackets when first used e.g. Pleotropic drug resistance (PDR) gene.
All spellings should follow English and not American rules.
Numbers one to ten should be quoted in words e.g. seven and not 7, whereas numbers above ten should be quoted as numerals e.g. 17 and not seventeen, except at the beginning of a sentence.
The title page should carry the following information: Author names, a title for the article, the name, address and e-mail of the corresponding author.
