Welcome!
This is the part of the Aspergillus website specifically intended for people (and their relatives and friends) who suffer from, or who think they may suffer from the fungus called Aspergillus (eg. Aspergillosis, aspergilloma, ABPA, fungal asthma, sinusitis, allergies).
- Complete beginners find 'What's Aspergillus' useful and informative. 'What's Aspergillus' is available in 32 languages here
- Patients can browse 'Essential Information' to find details of the drugs they are taking, find a local doctor or read of other patients' experiences. There is also a section covering illness caused by where you live or work entitled 'Sick buildings'
- 'Advice' covers specific points frequently brought up by patients
- There are hundreds of questions and answers that you can search through in our bulletin board. You can also ask your own questions
- Many patients find great benefit in joining our AspergillusSupport group (600 members and growing)
- Many patients will also find the information from our sister charity (www.aspergillustrust.org) is very useful. In particular they have written several information leaflets for the commoner forms of aspergillus illness.
- Detailed though often quite complicated information on treating your aspergillosis/aspergilloma is also found in the 'Main website' under the 'Diagnosis' and 'Treatment' sections.
- Information and guidelines on indoor air quality can be found in the Air Quality section

Aspergillosis |
Corticosteroids |
These two books are written with patients in mind (aspergillosis sufferers and long term users of corticosteroids) and are probably useful to understand these illnesses and treatments. We haven't read them yet so cannot recommend them directly but their authors are fully qualified medical professionals.
If you choose to buy here, the website receives a donation. The majority of our funding comes from a charity - The Fungal Research Trust. We are also grateful to our sponsors who also support this site. |
