If you are reading this for the first time it probably means that you or someone you are supporting has aspergillosis.
Aspergillosis can be a very long term illness with lots of ups and downs. Sufferers are often given steroids to take for a long time and that can have many serious side-effects that are both emotionally and physically draining. It often feels like there is an endless path in front of you that you have to keep treading.
A carer of friend can make a huge difference, especially if they understand the difficulties their friend is going through, so read through the document linked above - you may be able to identify some side effects before the patient does and then raise them with their doctor.
Other drugs that an aspergillosis patient may have to take are listed here. These also have many side effects.
Last but certainly not least, caring for an ill person can itself be extremely emotionally and physically tiring. Remember to take care of yourself before caring for the patient - you are no good if you are too tired to work and think efficiently.
